演出家・映画監督・作詞家・キャスティングディレクター
UPS主宰
アップスアカデミー芸術監督
ロックグループ「ゴダイゴ」の一連のヒット曲の作詞を手がける。
ニューヨークのネイバーフッド・プレイハウスで演技を学び、1980年ミュージカル「HAIR」の演出で本格的な演出業を開始する。
86年よりUPSアカデミーの前身「UPSアクティング・セミナー」を開設。演出した舞台「THE WINDS OF GOD」は国内のみならず、ロサンゼルスやニューヨークでも上演。
現在はキャスティングディレクターとしても活躍しており、「ラスト・サムライ」、「SAYURI」、2006年カンヌ国際映画祭監督賞受賞作品「バベル」、「アメリカンバスタイム俺たちの星条旗」、「ラーメンガール」(ブリタニー・マーフィー、西田敏行主演)等、話題作を次々と手がけている。
